John Rising was killed during the Blitz when he was on leave. It was his son's 4th birthday. He was with his wife having a meal in a fancy glass restaurant in London when a bomb hit and they fell. Both were injured. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital but the ambulance took a hit and he was killed.
