240239 Pte. Sydney J. Burnage British Army 5th Btn. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment (d.18th Aug 1943) Whilst visiting Thailand last year, and after visiting the Bridge over the River Kwai, we went to a British and Commonwealth Cemetery. Whilst doing our bit there and reading as many of the plaques as possible, I photographed Sydney Burnage's memory plaque. Mainly because I come from Hertfordshire. He was of no relationship to any of us, but I thought I might be able to inform his relatives that we paid our respects, but to no avail.
