Leonard Luce served 3l years with Royal Scots being discharged in l950.
He served in India, Palestine, BEF, Overseas, Middle East. He was Mentioned in Dispatches for the Italian Campaign. His son believes he was at Dunkirk and helped rescue some of his colleagues in the chaos. He did not speak much about WW2. Towards the end of his service he was Batman to Colonel Alec Purvis with whom he remained friends till his death.
