Lieutenant-Commander Acton was the son of David Howe and Lucy Howe Acton of Kinsale, husband of Constance Acton, of Summercove.
He was aged 33 when he died and is buried in the Kinsale (Ringcurran) Church of Ireland Churchyard, Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland.
He died from illness, not in action.
