Gnr. George Alec Bryan
British Army Royal Artillery
from:Peterborough, Derby
My father George Bryan was in the rear guard action at Dunkirk. He remembered how some soldiers were told to remain until the very end to allow others to escape.
He remembered being on the beach at Dunkirk as he was running, a fellow soldier next to him had his head blown off, did a couple or so steps and then dropped down dead.
