Wilfred Lillie was captured at Dunkirk when trying to make his getaway in a lorry. On that occasion the driver was killed and he was wounded. He was turned over to the German Red Cross, of which he spoke highly. He said he was treated kindly while in hospital. His wife received letters from him in which he says he was enjoying good health and receiving his Red Cross parcels regularly. He was incarcerated in Stalag XXB in Germany along with many others of his regiment.
