W/O. Hamish Gordon Collins
Royal Canadian Air Force 407 Squadron
from:Sandwich, Vancouver Island
(d.31st May 1943 )
Hamish Collins is my second cousin once removed. He completed his training as a pilot in Canada and then was transported to England where he joined Squadron 407 Coastal Command. He met up with a friend he had completed his training with, Pilot Officer Fowlie and he chose Fowlie as his navigator. They flew many operations together.
Their plane and crew did not return after a mission over the Bay of Biscay on the 31st of May 1943.
