L/Sgt. Wilfred Ernest Ratcliff
British Army South Staffordshire Regiment
from:142 Pineapple Rd. Stirchley, Birmingham
My dad Wilfred Ratcliff was in the South Staff's as a lance corporal. I think in 1944 as we have a photo of him with my mom and eldest brother who was born in 1944.
Previous to this he spent 3 years in Gibraltar in the Royal Artillery. When he came home I think he was on the guns in Plymouth. He then went on to be in the British Armed Forces of the Rhine. He ended up a lance sergeant. We know this as we have a photo of him with his six brothers who were all in the forces too.
His name was Wilf and it would be nice to hear of anyone who knew him. I'm very proud of my father, he was and still is my hero.
