F/O. Walter Snow DFC

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 582 Squadron

from:Rawtenstall, Lancs

Walter Snow was my father and he was a flight engineer on 582 Squadron from Oct 44 until the end of the war. He was shot down on the raid on 23rd of December 44 on Gremberg marshalling no yards in which RAM Palmer was awarded the VC. My father escaped his aircraft by parachute and in a highly unusual case all the crew escaped from the Lancaster which crashed at Bree in Belgium. My father died in 2009.
