Sgt. Alan George Allinson

British Army 22nd Field Regiment, 36/55 Bty. Royal Artillery

from:Feckenham, Worcestershire

George Allinson was my Grandfather. I have just found some diaries covering 1944 - 1945 which I have transcribed, and will send to my uncle who has more. We are both missing any diaries from 1943 when he would have been in Tunisia. Keen to find out more about that time. Fascinating reading and mentions of other that died during the war, although some of it hard to make out. A lot of it tallies with the stories he used to tell me when I was a child. I went with him to Russia in 1984 as part of a Dunkirk Veterans trip to celebrate 40 year anniversary of VE day. He died in 1991.
