Gnr. Kenneth John Pritchard

British Army Maritime Regiment Royal Artillery

from:Charlton

My father, Kenneth Pritchard was a gunner on the North Atlantic convoys and told us how they were told not to panic if they were hit by enemy fire. Well they were hit by a torpedo and they did not panic but as he said when two people are trying to get through a door meant to be used one at a time you tend to get stuck but they made it and ended up in New York for repairs where they had a good time with the Americans who used to send chocolate parcels home to the UK for my mother etc.
