Francis Harrison was the son of Harry and Emmeline Harrison, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He held a Diploma with 1st Class Hons. in Accountancy and Secretarial work.
He was 21 when he drowned when the SS Nerissa was torpedoed on 30th of April 1941 North West of Ireland by German submarine U-552. Harrison's body washed ashore at Enniscrone, Co. Sligo on 26 May 1941.
He is buried in the Easky (Roslea) Cemetery, Co. Sligo, Ireland.
