Richard Rutledge Thompson British Army 8th Survey Regiment Royal Artillery from:27 Brunswick St, Birkenhead My dad was Dickie Thompson served in the 8th South Lancashire Regiment and 8th Survey Regiment Royal Artillery. He was in WWII and started training somewhere in Suffolk, l think, where he shot rabbits with his officer. He saw service in North Africa and Italy. He told me he was a driver and a forward observation post observer. He was very shy about talking of the war.
