L/Cpl. James Harte
British Army 7th Btn. Seaforth Highlanders
from:Mullingar, Ireland
(d.3rd December 1944)
After the liberation of my village, Sevenum in the Netherlands, on November 21st 1944 James Harte and three of his comrades were in a house in Sevenum when a terrible accident happened. There was a huge bang in the house. Obviously a hand grenade had exploded. When men of the 7th Seaforth Battalion (15th Scottish Infantry Division) went to take a look, they found the four dead bodies of their group.
