Sgt. James Campbell
British Army 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment
from:Dunfermline
My father James Campbell joined the Northamptonshire Regiment in April 1933 aged 20. He was with BEF in France and Belgium and was one of the lucky few of his Battalion who made it back to the UK via Dunkirk.
In 1942 he transferred to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and with them was posted to India and Burma. He left the army in 1945 but never spoke of his experiences. He passed away in 1989.
