Robert Scott born 20th October 1919, in Kelty, Fife served as a driver with the R.E.M.E during WWII. Robert married on 18th July 1942 in Tadcaster and settled in his wife's home town of South Shields. He passed away in 1998 in South Shields. He wrote an account of sinking of the Lancastria on 17th of June 1940, submitted whilst working for Tyneside Passenger Transport Executive. He received a Lancastria Commemorative Medal in 2015.
