245281 Sgt. Arthur Thorpe British Army Reconnaissance Corps from:Birmingham My Father, Arthur Thorpe joined the army, I think the Staffordshire Regiment in 1939/40. He became a corporal then Sergent eventually joining the Reconnaissance Corps in Bren gun carriers and armoured cars. He fought in France, Holland and Germany joining the fighting a few days after D Day.
