L/Cpl. Thomas Eli Jordan
British Army 60th Special Coy. Royal Engineers
from:Filton, Bristol
Thomas Jordan joined the Army in 1941 and trained in the army as a Radio Mechanic and served on Radar installations on the south coast. Was posted to 60th Special Company, Royal Engineers from Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He served in North Africa, followed close behind Hitler's Army in North Africa playing tank noises to make them think the British Army was moving forward towards them. Then between 1943 and 1945 crossed into Sicily and up through Italy until Italy was liberated in 1945.
I am trying to find out more but it seems difficult as he was attached to both Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Royal Engineers.
