Sgt. Arthur Reginald Rudd
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 150 Squadron
from:Deptford London
(d.28th October 1942)
My wife Barbara has for many years attempted to find the details of her Uncle Reg, Sergeant Arthur Rudd. She knew he was an air gunner and believed the aircraft was lost at sea, she had no other details. She recently visited the new Bomber Command Memorial and spoke to Mal Stainforth who offered to assist, some days later we received an email giving full details for the first time of Arthur's loss. He died on the 28th of October 1942 in Wellington Bomber X3957 JN, of 150 Squadron, on a night flight, Mine laying, the aircraft was lost over the sea with crew of five,
F/O. W A Cranz, Sgt J R
Ovens, Sgt H Pollitt, Sgt J A Taylor. The are all remembered on the memorial at Runnymede.
