Jack Biggerstaff joined the Territorial Army and under went Regimental Training with the Beds and Herts Regiment
He fought in 2nd World with the 6th Btn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) in North West Europe
as part of 52nd Lowland Division, 21st army group and were attached to the first Canadian Army. He fought in the Battle of the Scheldt where the 52nd Division gained an excellent reputation. The 156th Infantry Brigade, with the 52nd, took part in Operation Blackcock in early 1945, later taking part in the western allied invasion of Germany, and ended the war by the River Elbe.
Jack was with the Leicestershire Regiment after war as a regimental police corporal and the Royal Irish Hussars after that then was demobbed.
