George "Jimmy" James
British Army 85th (Tees) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, 220th Ba Royal Artillery
from:Hartlepool
Upon requesting my grandfather's war records, I can confirm that he, George James disembarked in France on 5th April 1940 and disembarked in UK 6th June 1940 at Aberystwyth. My grandfather was part of the 220th Battery, 85th (Tees) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery and originally from Hartlepool, Durham.
During service he received 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45 and the Territorial Efficiency Medal.
I would be interested to hear from anybody whom has any further information on his unit and any stories, photos etc as I am putting together a file for future generations
