Flight Sergeant Donald Bentley was the son of Harry and Elizabeth A. Bentley, of Wyke, Bradford, Yorkshire. He was 22 years old when the aircraft he was piloting crashed, he is buried in the San Marino Town Cemetery in San Marino.
