2nd Lietenant Manning Lee Lawrence, from Burbank California served with 365th Squadron, 305th Bomb Group. A B-17 Bombadier flying out of Chelveston airfield in England, he was shot down near Illesheim, Germany on 14th of October 1943 Black Thursday. He became a POW at Stalag Luft III until marched to Stalag VIIA. He survived the war and lived until 1964.
