PFC. Harry Gerald "Bud" Johnson
United States Army Co. A 232nd Infantry Regiment
from:Parsons, WV
Harry Johnson was my uncle on my father's side. Better known as Uncle Bud. He was born in a small town in WV, Parsons was where he was born and raised until he was drafted into service.
My family has had men in the military since the Revolutionary War. Bud worked in the coal mines when he was younger. He had one son Allen G. Johnson who was also in the Army for 25yrs. I was young when he passed away in 1969. I have heard stories about him over the years. He was well liked by everyone that meet him. He was about 5'11 with blue eyes and dark thick hair. I thank him for his service and the pain he went through during his POW time.
