Donald Lister was the son of a local doctor from the small fishing village of Bermagui, 380kms south of Sydney.
He was educated locally at Cobargo and later in Sydney at The Kings School, Parramatta and worked as a timber contractor on the north coast at Missabotti immediately before enlistment.
Donald trained in Canada before proceeding to the UK.
He was listed as missing, presumed killed, over the Mediterranean Sea off Algeria on the 26th of April 1943.
