My father was Howard F. Pfister Jr. He served at the Battle of the Bulge. He was shot in the leg prior to being captured at St. Vith in Belgium on the 21st of December 1944. He was marched over 20 miles to the German border, loaded onto an over crowded box car along with many other POW's. He was taken to the worst of all Stalags 1XB. He remained there until the American liberation in mid April 1945.
