Ord.Sea Peter Stewart "Wiggy" Bennett

Ordinary Seaman Peter Bennett served from 1941. His first wartime ship was HMS Milne which he joined in July 1942 as an OS Signalman. He took part in two Russian Convoys, PQ18 and JW52.
Wiggy served for a total of 14 years. He is also known to have served on HMS Roley, Zephyr, Triumph and Forth. He left the Royal Navy as PO Yeoman and joined the Metropolitan Police.
He passed away in October 2008 aged 84. Wiggy was a Royal Navy and Pompey man through and through. The Last Post was played by buglers at his funeral and his ashes were scattered at Portsmouth.
