Pte. Charles William George Roome
British Army Royal Army Service Corps
from:Hendon
(d.9th February 1942)
We have just returned from a pilgrimage to France to retrace the possible last movements of our uncle, Chris Roome who died at the Battle of Bapaume, very poignant. He has no known grave, but is listed at Vis en Artois. He died on August 31st 1918, aged just 18. We visited the Hendon Memorial to see his name. On another panel, for WW2 is listed a Roome CWG, and we are curious to know if there is a familial connection.
