PFC. George Richko
US Army Co. C, 2nd Platoon 326th Airborne Engineer Battalion
from:Jerome, PA.
My dad, George Richko, was captured on the 6th of June 1944. I know very little about the years my Dad spent as a POW of the Germans. My Mother told me he escaped and took another soldier with him. He was found by a farmer and his wife. They hide him from the Germans and got in touch with the Army. He was sent home. He earned the EAME Campaign Medal and American Campaign Medal WWll
