Pte. Philip Sidney Wardle

(d.17th June 1940)
My Great Uncle, Philip Wardle, never forgotten. He was killed aged 21 while being evacuated in Operation Ariel on HMT Lancastria which was bombed and sunk, Sid was shot dead whilst in the water.
A much loved son and uncle with a huge heart, great sense of humour and a member of the company football team.
