Gnr. Leonard Sidney Jackson

British Army 28th HAA Battery Royal Artillery

from:Fordingbridge, Hants

Len Jackson was my father. He served in the Royal Artillery in Haifa, Palestine and then on the island of Kos in Sept 1943. His unit was captured when Kos was captured by Germans. Dad became a POW at Stalag IVB near Muhlberg, Germany. His mother received the news in a letter from Major R.C.L. Fitzwilliams, of 28th HAA Battery. He informed her that a party of picked men under Captain Westcott had been captured.
