Cyril Lill was lost on SS Brittania on 25th of March 1941 when it was sunk by the German ship Thor.
The Captain of the Brittania ordered the abandonment of the ship, the Thor sank the ship and left the survivors to fend for themselves.
123 men lost their lives. Some were picked up by vessel Capo Horno heading for neutral Spain.
