F/Lt. Max Whitely Davidson
Royal Canadian Air Force 420 Squadron
from:Calgary
Max Davidson was a flight lieutenant and pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force 420 Squadron, The Snowy Owl. He flew 33 operations.
They knew there was going to be a mission at noon when they would see "War on Tonight" posted with a list of the crews that would be going.
They rested and had an operational meal which included a glass of milk and a real egg (as opposed to powdered eggs).
They then received a briefing and were assigned flying heights, times, and routes.
Most often they left shortly before nightfall, hitting the French coast by dark.
