Henry Cook was called up in October 1939 when he turned 18 then after 6 weeks training he was sent to France.
I think as part of the BEF (British Expeditionary Force), after a week or so of action he was captured after running out of supplies. He was then a POW for 5 years until being liberated by the Americans.
