L/Cpl Sidney Herman Hodge
British Army 552 Coy Royal Army Service Corps
from:Winchester
My father Sidney Hodge, enlisted in 1939 and was posted to 552 Company, RASC at Retford in 1939.
He served in the desert as part of 7th Armoured Brigade.
He returned to England in 1944 I think, then landed in Normandy in June, then proceeded through Holland and was in Germany at the declaration of the German surrender in 1945.
He returned home after and was demobbed shortly after that and as far as I know 552 Company was de-activated.
I was born in January 1946 and still have a few items from his service in WW2.
After the war he kept in touch with a guy named Ted Seddon or Setton I'm not sure which, and he visited my father several times over the years
