Wilf Wilson
Royal Ordnance Factory 59
from:Shildon
My great uncle Wilf Wilson was one of the few men who worked at ROF Aycliffe during WW2.
He lost an arm as a young man in a pit accident, which made him unable to serve in the armed forces.
I only discovered that he had worked there after he had died, when I found the letter thanking him for his service when the filling factory closed at the end of the war.
