Robert Barnes was captured in North Africa during the Battle of Sidi Rezegh (Totensonntag) on Sunday evening 23rd of November 1941.
He was transported by ship MS Ankara and arrived in Tripoli on 22nd November 1941 at 15:00 hrs.
Robert was moved around to different camps ending in Campo Concentramento per P.G. 52 Hut 8, P.M. 3100 Italia.
He was eventually transferred to Germany when Italy was defeated.
