He received 2nd Bronze Star and Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge, at Rochefort Belgium.
He was listed as Missing in Action on 24th December 1944, and then listed as Prisoner of War on 25th of December 1944, by the Red Cross.
He was taken to Stalag 9B, Bad Orb, and stayed until liberated in April 1945.
