Henry Lawrence served with the Royal Scots Fusiliers in WW2. In his uniform picture, the three chevrons show his rank as Sergeant. Infantry sergeants wore the red sash. No medals. His uniform appears to be 'Patrol', similar to later No. 1 dress, unusual but probably retained pre-1939 service. The tartan trousers are those of the Scots Fusiliers.
