Pte. John Henry Stead

British Army Border Regiment

John Stead was my father in law. He first joined the Royal Welch Fusiliers from 13th of June 1940 to 16th of May 1942, then transferred to the Welch Regiment from 17th of May 1942 to 29th of July 1942. Then he was in the Border Regiment from 30th of July 1942 to 22nd of May 1946, serving in Burma with the Chindits. He was born in 1914 and died in 1991.
