Gnr. Leonard Reginald Swatton
British Army Royal Artillery
from:27 Western Road, Winchester
Dad, Leonard Swatton was taken POW at St. Valery en Caux and was a POW for 5 years in
Stalag 8B. He was also on the Death March. He told me when I was a child that the Germans marched them round and round in circles but when I became secretary of the Bournemouth & Poole Branch of the Veterans of Dunkirk another member, now deceased, told me of the Death March, so of course I put two and two together and realised this 'marching round and round in circles' was actually the Death March.
Dad's POW Number is 17832
