William Parker
British Army Kings Own Royal Regiment
I have found a piece of paper that has a serial number on it, my father, William Parker's POW number which is 9668. It says prisoner of war camp contact officer is Lt. Co. R.A.S. Sparks, then it says issued at Markt Pongau (in red) dated 11.5.45.
Editor's note: The POW camp in the town of Markt Pongau, which is near Salzburg and is now called St. Johann im Pongau, was Stalag XVIII-C, also known as Stalag 317.
