ACW1. Irene Parr

Womens Auxiliary Air Force

from:Bootle, Liverpool

My mother, Irene Parr, was a batwoman stationed in Chipping Campden, England. There, she met my US Army dad who was stationed in the nearby Blockley POW camp for Axis prisoners. They married in 1945 in Bootle, Liverpool and Irene became a war bride, arriving in New York City in March 1946 aboard the USAT Edmund B. Alexander. I am so proud to have been her youngest daughter. She passed in 1975.
