In 1946 he had inoculations appear to be indicative of possible year of fracture to skull, which occurred following a kick to head whilst diving to get a loose ball during a Rugby game whilst based in Johore. Metal Plate fitted to left side of head, then sent to Darjeeling for convalescence.
