263922 Spr. Robert Hurd British Army 270th Field Coy Royal Engineers from:Barnsley (d.31st Mar 1943) Robert Hurd married my grandma Dorothy in April 1942. We understood that he was blown up on a bridge in Burma but this was only a family story. His grave is located in the Tarbarka Ras Rajel War Cemetery in Tunisia, so he must have been killed in North Africa. He was only 26 years old and hadn't even been married to my grandma for a year when he died. He had no children with my grandma.
