Denis Clifford enlisted with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and flew with 108 Squadron, he was killed when his aircraft was shot down on 4th of May 1942.
His Cousin, Noel Clifford, an RAF rear-gunner was killed in an accident over Blackpool Railway Station in 1941.
