My Dad, Thomas Gurr served in HMS Scylla in the early days of the Battle of Normandy, it made new escorts across the English Channel until 23rd of June 1944, when it was severely damaged by an underwater mine.
Declared irreparable, it was towed to Portsmouth.
P.O. Thomas Gurr was a Stationary Engineer in the Boiler Room.
