Royal Air Force C Flight 76 Squadron

Walter Macfarlane , Mac joined the RAF in May 1940 and was posted to 76 Squadron in September 1944 where he flew as C Flight Commander on 31 missions until March 1945. On two operations he flew as Acting Squadron Leader.
After completing his Tour he was re-mustered on 76 Squadron on DC3's and sent east to the Japanese theatre where he stayed until until his demobilization in May 1946. He left the RAF with 3,252 flying hours.
Mac stayed in flying ending his flying career as a senior captain for British Airways on VC10s.
