Earnest Glenister served as an ARP Warden. On pulling a young lady from a burning house who was only concerned that her nightdress was riding up above her waist he said “It's all right love, I'm married” to which she replied “I'm not, so look away."
He spent many a night out in the blackout doing his duty along with so many others. He was awarded the St John’s Star.
