Ronald Heveran was my Father. He was called up to the Cheshire Reg in 1939 (I think), later he was shipped to North Africa. He was in the 27th Lancers but was a member of the Long Range Desert Group as part of the fledgling SAS. He then went on to serve in Italy and was a member of Popoff's Private Army. Both were in the reconnaissance role. He ended his war in Austria.
